"My real name is Amethyst.  It sounds like a stage name.  My Mom is kind of crazy."   — Iggy Azalea

Materials:

  • Acorns
  • Silk leaves
  • Black lichen
  • Amethyst beads

During the months of September and October, on the way to pick up my daily mail, I collect the acorns that have fallen from my neighbors' trees.  I have serious competition in the resident squirrels who denounce my foraging ways with some pretty alarming sounds. This piece has an ethereal, delicate quality that is not generally associated with oak trees, and because of this, it's one I'm particularly fond of.
